Two Day Horse Owner’s Clinic with Mike McCaffrey

Saty June 18 and Sun June 19, 2011

Venue: Kookaburra Park Equestrian Centre, Kyneton

(approx 70 mins NW of Melbourne via Calder Freeway)

Mike McCaffrey, a highly regarded practitoner and teacher, is coming to Australia to share his knowledge this winter.

This intensive horse owners course is aimed at those looking for the knowledge and skills to be able to help their own horse. It includes some basic muslce anatomay and physiology but will be mostly ‘hands on’. You will learn what healthy tissue feels like, as opposed to scar tissue or hyper toned muscle tissue. You will learn to  read your horse’s subtle responses to pressure along with a range of techniques and sequences of work to make a difference to your horse via bodywork.  What you learn will be useful for pre-event and or post-event comfort for your horse. It will also be applicable for therapeutic purposes or simply for stress relief.  You will learn  an array of stretches. Proper saddle fit  (and the consequences biomechanically of ill fitting saddles) will also be covered. Your horse will love you for it!

The course will help in early detection of muscle problems. It will aid in improving performance in whatever discipline you participate in. It will also enhance your emotional bond with your horse. This is something they really enjoy!
